The short answer
Every company registered in JAFZA must have its financial statements audited each year by an auditor on JAFZA's approved list and submit them within 90 days of the financial year end through the Dubai Trade portal. At least one director signs the balance sheet. Extensions need JAFZA approval before the deadline passes.
What is the JAFZA filing deadline?
Ninety days after the financial year end, under the JAFZA implementing regulations; the statements and summary sheet are uploaded through Dubai Trade and the original report is delivered afterwards (JCA Audit on JAFZA requirements). An extension is possible only if requested and approved before the deadline. Late filing can block the licence renewal.
Who can audit a JAFZA company?
An auditor on JAFZA's approved list, which is open only to firms licensed by Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (JCA Audit).
Before appointing any auditor, ask for proof that the firm is on the current JAFZA approved list: a report signed by a firm that is not listed will be rejected at upload.
Why is the JAFZA timetable tighter than most?
Ninety days leaves little room once stock counts, bank confirmations and related-party balances are involved. We agree a timetable at the start of the year, attend the count, and request confirmations in the first week after year end. The same audited accounts support the corporate tax return, and QFZPs must have them anyway (Ministerial Decision No. 82 of 2023).
